“In selecting new monitors, our objective was to reduce the number of cables required and to streamline our cable management system. A clean desk creates a brighter, more open space, which was an important element directly linked to the concept of the new office.

“The FlexScan EV2495 and EV2740X premium models we installed are equipped with a USB Type-C port for displaying images, transmitting USB signals, and supplying power to laptops via a single USB Type-C cable. Furthermore, the monitors are equipped with a USB hub and LAN port, allowing for straightforward connection of peripheral devices and maintenance of a stable internet connection. Eliminating the need to carry an AC adapter or docking station has significantly enhanced mobility in the office.

“What’s more, the EV2495 is daisy chain compatible, which allows us to create a dual monitor environment with simpler wiring. The new monitors allow us to connect a laptop to the first monitor via a USB Type-C cable and then connect the two monitors via another USB Type-C cable, creating a multi-monitor environment with minimal effort. This helped us reduce the number of cables required, creating a neater workspace and eliminating the inconvenience of connecting numerous cables to a laptop upon returning from an outing or meeting. We found that no other company's monitors offered such a comprehensive range of functions.

“Some of our group companies were of the opinion that reducing the number of cables was not a priority. However, we believed that reducing the hassle of plugging and unplugging cables, as well as the hassle of carrying around a charging adapter and docking station, would directly lead to improved work efficiency. In a hybrid work environment, we believe this also allows for a more flexible and free-style approach to work. Indeed, a tidier work environment has shown to positively impact workplace morale and facilitate better communication between colleagues.”

“After careful consideration, we decided to standardize the color of all our monitors to white, replacing the black ones we had been using. While black monitors convey a welcoming and sophisticated ambience, we were mindful that their color could also give the impression of a confined space, impeding active communication. The introduction of white monitors has significantly enhanced the visual appeal of the workplace, creating a bright and open environment that has been well-received by employees. The cables are also white, which contributes to the overall tidiness of the desks. The introduction of a unified and aesthetically pleasing white space has prompted employees to take greater care in maintaining their desks, and the improved visibility has made it easier to locate individuals within the space.

3. Choose Your Workstyle: Optimal Screen Size and Resolution from a Wide Lineup

“To provide the optimal work environment for each employee's work content and style, we installed two types of monitors from EIZO's extensive lineup. In the hot desking space, employees may select their preferred workstation from a dual monitor (24.1-inch EV2495) or single monitor (27-inch EV2740X) environment.

“The dual monitor environment is primarily utilized by personnel in the back-office department. The ability to display different applications and tasks on each monitor has been well-received by employees, who have found it to be an effective way to organize their thoughts. For the single monitor environment, we selected a 4K model that displays a substantial amount of information. The high-definition and clear display has also been well-received by employees, who have found that multiple windows can be lined up to make full use of the screen, and the excellent visibility allows for seamless navigation without frequent switching or scrolling.”

4. Collective Packaging: Promoting Sustainability and Contributing to Efficient Installation

“By utilizing collective packaging, in which all four monitors are packaged together in one box without the stands, we were able to promote sustainability. In comparison to the standard packaging method of individually packing each unit, this allowed us to reduce the amount of packaging material that was discarded. The reduction in loading volume also meant that a single transport trip was sufficient. “Another notable benefit was the increased efficiency of the installation process. There was less packaging to dispose of and, since the necessary accessories and cables were packaged separately, we didn’t need to sort through miscellaneous items during the installation process. This made the entire process smoother.”
