| Migaki: To give operators a solid grasp of the situation at various sites, we need to continuously display high-resolution images, captured by multiple cameras over long periods. It is common to use high-performance PCs to decode such high-resolution images, however those come with their own security management costs, like password management, regular updates, anti-virus measures, and log management. We opted to use EIZO IP decoding boxes because they are a straightforward way to simultaneously display multiple camera images from other sites without needing a PC. This meant that we could have a simplified system that still met security standards while reducing our management costs. | |

The DX0211-IP is connected to multiple IP cameras at each location and outputs in 4K resolution to the video wall at the front of the room. We appreciate the fact that the DX0211-IP can display high-resolution images without any downsides like latency. It also enables us to connect to other data centers in Japan through the network, allowing us to share camera images with our head office, as well as locations in Shinjuku, Tama, and Osaka. With the DX0211-IP, acquiring camera images from other locations is a matter of a few simple settings.

Our use case leans more toward monitoring situations rather than preventing crime, so we also found it encouraging that the DX0211-IP has a proven track record in medical institutions and public facilities, which have similar needs. Compared to similar solutions from other companies, we opted for the DX0211-IP because it supports 4K I/O, has a compact size and fanless design, and because it can be operated via remote control or mouse for increased flexibility.
Displaying a Large Volume of Information Simultaneously

Migaki: The surveillance room serves as the core of our new network service operations center. The operators here need to be able to see a lot of constantly changing information as they do their work. Our primary requirement for monitors here is that they must be able to display a lot of information at once, at a high pixel density, but also be comfortable to read.
Sasaki: EIZO’s FlexScan EV3285 and EV2785 4K monitors keep small text and images sharp and comfortable to read. The Picture-by-Picture (PbyP) function, which allows multiple PCs to display simultaneously on a single screen, has also been incredibly useful. The EV3285 even allows for dividing the screen into quadrants, which helps operators make the right decisions by comparing information from multiple sources.
Migaki: The frameless, fully flat design gives it a light, minimalistic feel, while leaving plenty of room on the desk. The result is a comfortable operating environment with effective use of space.

We also promote digital transformation internally to improve our offices and IT environment and make diverse work styles a reality. One of these initiatives has been to optimize our office spaces. |

Our primary requirements for office monitors are that they won’t cause eyestrain, and that they will last. These monitors are used over long stretches of time for development work or during disasters, so eye fatigue and hardware failures would cause major problems. EIZO’s monitors were ideal for us because they have features like blue light reduction to make them easier on the eyes, and they are 100% made in Japan and come with a five-year warranty. They also offer excellent after-sales service, which is great for peace of mind if we ever experience hardware issues.
